About Aurora

A six-cabin Bali 4.5, built for calm days at anchor.

Built in 2015 and sailing the Mediterranean — mostly the North Aegean — Aurora accommodates up to 10 guests across four double cabins and a convertible saloon, with two single cabins for the crew and four electric heads and showers.

Twin Yanmar diesels and twin 12 kW electric engines (104 kWh) give up to 30 nm of near-silent range, while 4 kW of solar and dual inverters mean no generator overnight. A classic mainsail and Parasailor spinnaker carry you the rest of the way.

Frequently asked questions

What are the additional costs?

The mandatory extras (skipper and final cleaning) are listed with the rates. You should also budget for mooring costs, fuel and food during your sailing holiday.

What documents will I receive after booking?

You’ll get an instant booking confirmation and the charter contract. After payment, we send the crew list, boarding pass and marina base information.

Can Aurora be chartered without a skipper?

No — the catamaran is rented only with a professional skipper, included as a mandatory extra.

Is the boat insured?

Yes, the catamaran has full insurance.

What is the deposit?

The deposit is a refundable amount held to cover any potential damage to the boat during your charter.

How can I cancel my reservation?

Contact us at +359 889620021 or info@mediterranean-sailing.com and we’ll assist you immediately.

Do I need a sailing licence or previous experience?

No. A professional skipper is always aboard and handles the boat, so no licence, certification or sailing experience is required from you or your guests.

How much does a week really cost in total?

Take the weekly rate and add the two required extras: the skipper at €200 per day (€1,400 for a week) and the €300 final clean with linen and towels. A low-season week at €2,500 therefore comes to €4,200, or roughly €4,600 once diesel, water and mooring are included — about €460 per person with all 10 guest berths filled, before food. A peak-season week at €6,500 works out at roughly €8,600, or about €860 per person.

How many people can sleep aboard Aurora?

Twelve berths in six cabins. Four double cabins are available for guests, and the saloon converts to two extra beds — ten guest berths in all. The two single cabins are kept for the skipper and, if you book one, a hostess. There are 4 electric heads, each with a shower.

When does the sailing season run?

The published 2026 season runs from 18 April to 28 November. Weeks outside those dates have no published rate — contact us and we’ll confirm what is possible.

Where does Aurora sail?

Aurora sails the Mediterranean, mostly the North Aegean. Your exact route is planned with the skipper around the weather and what you want from the week. Marina base information is sent to you after booking.

Can I book fewer than seven days?

Standard charters run a full week, Saturday to Saturday. Custom date ranges can be requested — get in touch and we’ll tell you what’s available.

Is there internet on board?

Yes. Aurora carries unlimited Starlink Coastal WiFi plus 5 GB of weekly cell coverage, along with air conditioning, heating, a watermaker and a fully equipped galley.
